Oppenheimer – J. Robert Oppenheimer

Worth seeing this in the cinematheque if you’re at all interested in the film or going to the theatre. First announced in September of 2021, film pre-production commenced before Russia invaded Ukraine and the current threat of WW3-level nuclear war.

Reminiscent of the 31st of August 2022 film ‘White Noise’ “airborne toxic event” and the subsequent Palestine Ohio train derailment on the 3rd of February 2023, Oppenheimer certainly has its finger on the pulse. Or proverbial button. A compelling and humanising biographical study of the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer and a complicated, world-changing era. Again, indicative of a silver-screen current of veracity and insight flowing through consciousness mirroring real-world events of vital import.
